In a statement released early today, the Drowsy Drivers expressed their sincere condolences to the friends and relatives of Jam Master Jay, the legendary Run-DMC DJ who was shot in a New York studio last night.
"Surely now the violence has to stop," pleaded an impassioned Casey
Bennetto at an unrelated press conference. "It’s time for a truce
between New York and Australia. This vicious cycle cannot continue."
Bennetto also paid tribute to Jam Master Jay, describing him as "a sterling DJ and a valuable friend".
Journalists present reminded Bennetto that he had never met or communicated with Jam Master Jay,
at which point he threatened to "smoke all you honky homies who don’t
gimme my props", and retreated into a bulletproof limousine.
