Seven Of Nine

A dangerous late-night infatuation with Jeri Ryan of “Star Trek: Voyager” prompted this rather silly funk workout that owes a little bit to Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters (not in a legally binding sense, of course). There’s a lot of in-jokes that won’t make any sense to anyone without at least a passing understanding of the mechanics of the Borg. Really, how nerdy can you get?

Seven Of Nine

I wanna blow your collective mind…
I am a cosmic traveller, a member of the human race
And I promised myself I wouldn’t get too funky out here in outer space
But then I saw this woman and I had to say “Goddamn!”
Because I want to be what she wants me to be, I don’t wanna be what I am

I want to go one two three four five like Seven Of Nine
If you want a life, baby, assimilate mine
One two three four five like Seven Of Nine
Hook me up, baby, I could blow your collective mind

Do you like to rumble? Do you like to dance?
You beautiful Borg, just get out on the floor, baby, shake those Borg implants
Now I don’t know what you think of this, maybe an idea you’ve outgrown
I wanna take my biological distinctiveness and add it to your own

I want to go one two three four five like Seven Of Nine
If you want a life, baby, assimilate, eliminate
One two three four five, Seven Of Nine
Hook me up, baby, let me blow your collective mind

Resistance is futile, this sister gets too wild,
resistance is futile, yeah
Resistance is futile, this sister gets too wild,
I’m hooked on this nubile starchild called Seven Of Nine

I am a cosmic traveller, a member of the human race
And I promised myself I wouldn’t get too funky out here in outer space
But then I saw this woman and I had to say “Goddamn!”
Because I want to be what she wants me to be, I don’t wanna be what I am
Because I want to be what she wants me to be, I don’t wanna be what I am
Because I want to be what she wants me to be, I don’t wanna be what I am
Because I want to be what she wants me to be, I don’t wanna be what I am…
